Information Industry Development Summit to Come in March
(China Industry & Commerce Times, Beijing) Information Industry
Development Summit The 1st Hainan Information Industry Development
Forum, sponsored by China International Trade Promotion Commission
and Hainan Province People's Government, undertaken by China International
Industry & Commerce Co. and supported by the Ministry of Information
Industry of the P.R.C., is to be conducted on March 27 and 28, 2003
in Haikou city of Hainan province.
The Summit will be attended by state leaders and leaders from the
State Planning Commission, the Ministry of Information Industry, the
State Economic and Trade Commission, Hainan Province People's Government
and China International Trade Promotion Commission of the P.R.C.,
part of ambassadors and counselors from foreign embassies and consulates
in China and principals of world top 500 enterprises and famous Chinese
enterprises. Discussions will be conducted on topics including "Development
of Information Industry in China" and "Ways to Promote Information
Industry Efficiently", "Ways to Promote Regional Information
Industry", "Planning of Regional Development of Information
Industry", and "New Understanding of China and Hainan to
Other Parts of the World" etc. The forum will also explore the
interaction between developments of China's information industry and
the world information industry under the current situation of the
world economy, and will highlight that China is a major country engaged
in information industry promotion, and one of the nations/regions
with the greatest potential in the field. Foreign enterprises may
improve their competitiveness in China by grasping the opportunities
generated when China promotes its information industry, and also seek
for connection with Chinese enterprises as well as investment opportunities
and partners in China. Foreign enterprises may also establish R&D
centers and training centers in Hainan and other parts of China to
lower their costs. The Summit will also provide a platform for attendees'
understanding of each other and establishment of interconnections.
